Deprescribing Through Life Enrichment and Interdisciplinary Care
Deprescribing Through Life Enrichment and Interdisciplinary Care
Deprescribing isn’t just a decision made at the doctor’s office—it starts with an empowering conversation that encourages advocacy and open dialogue about all types of medications. Just because a client has been on a medication for decades doesn’t necessarily mean it’s still the best option. It’s important to ask the right questions and initiate deprescribing discussions, whether it involves over-the-counter drugs, herbal supplements, vitamins, or chronic medications. Learn key tips and strategies from The Deprescribing Pharmacist, DeLon Canterbury, who is Board-Certified in Geriatric Pharmacotherapy, to help you confidently engage in these conversations with healthcare providers.
At the end of this event, attendees will be able to:
- Identify practical questions to advocate for deprescribing in older adults
- Recognize common side effects of medications in older adults to support deprescribing efforts
1 CEU will be offered to participants who attend this session for the full 60 minutes and respond to the time-sensitive survey upon completion of the event.
CEU Types Offered: NCCAP, NCCDP, NCTRC, NAB NCERS, NZSDRT, and/or a General Attendance Certificate.
